Read this mystery novel for a fable-ous good time

Let’s cut to the chase: Should you read this book? Yes, definitely.

The Chronicles of Detective Spade combines the detective genre with a world of recognizable fables and nursery rhymes that infuse this novel with nostalgia and wit.

(Find it on Amazon in paperback or Kindle edition.)

What’s great about The Chronicles of Detective Spade

First of all, this is three books in one, so you are definitely getting your money’s worth. The creativity in the plot is unlike anything I’ve ever read. The dialogue is witty, the characters are clever, and the descriptions of the settings, clothing, and fight scenes paint a picture in your mind. The plot is intricate but not hard to follow.

Plus, there is cool, original artwork at the beginning of every chapter. I thought that was a nice way to break up the chapters and add a special detail to the novel.

I am normally a really fast reader; however, this book took me longer to read than most books — and that’s a good thing. I could see this book being made into a movie. The only thing that made me sad about this book was when I was done reading it. Hopefully, we will see more tales about Detectives Spade and Virgil from author Alexander A. Anderson soon.
